Cheryl Ivery
Attorney
Cheryl Ivery is an accomplished attorney, entrepreneur, and
advocate for the underserved. A proud African-American woman
from Brooklyn, New York, Cheryl's remarkable journey began
when she graduated high school at 16 while simultaneously
earning an Associate Degree in Business Administration.
Her professional path includes military service with the
U.S. Army, working at JP Morgan on Wall Street where she
earned her Series 7 certification at just 18, and serving as
Assistant Comptroller for Ferrari Express. Cheryl's pursuit
of education led to degrees including a Bachelor's in
Business Administration/Law, an MBA, a Juris Doctorate, and
an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law.
From 2020 to 2024, she served as a Criminal Judge for the
state of North Carolina.
Cheryl's commitment to service is evident in her founding of
Mada Penny House, a non-profit providing housing and
resources for homeless individuals, particularly veterans.
As founder of Barrister Tax Service and Ivery Federal Law
Group, she represents clients in U.S. Tax Court, IRS
matters, Veteran Benefits Administration, immigration
claims, and military law.
Her philosophy is summed up in her message:
"Build your foundation, never stop learning, and always
pay it forward."
Why Representation
Matters
Navigating the VA system alone can be frustrating and confusing. Missed deadlines, incomplete evidence, and misunderstood decisions can cost you years of benefits. Working with an advocate who focuses on veterans helps you avoid costly missteps, present the full picture of how your service-connected conditions affect you, and pursue the highest rating the law allows.
